Phil Collins is an English musician, songwriter, producer, and actor born in 1951. He first gained prominence as the drummer for the progressive rock band Genesis before transitioning to the role of lead vocalist. As a solo artist between 1982 and 1990, Collins achieved remarkable commercial success, reaching number one on both UK and US charts multiple times. His combined output across Genesis, solo work, and various collaborations resulted in more top-40 hits on the US charts during the 1980s than any other artist of that era, establishing him as a dominant figure in rock and pop music.
